Red Velvet!

I have decided on a color palette! I created this palette last night on Colourlovers.com and I just love it! I am so excited to work with just one hue! Here is the palette!



I will post the preview no later than 3:00 pm EST on Wednesday so be on the lookout for the newest kit! It will have 8 papers and 15 elements and it may have an alpha too! I am really excited to do this!! Wish me luck!

Everyone that participated in the first round of the Designers Call/Challenge at Gingerscraps made it to the second round!! Our next challenge is to make a mini kit with one hue. This is going to a great challenge! I am still undecided on what color to use but I am thinking about my elements already. I'm sure that by tomorrow I will have my color figured out and will start on my new mini kit. It is due by Wednesday by 12 pst so I will have the preview posted no later than that and the link to follow to get the new kit!

I just wanted to take a minute and wish all of my American readers a Happy Thanksgiving! I know I am thankful for many things in my life and just wanted to say thanks. Hope that everyone has had a great day!

Update time! Lots of good stuff!!

Okay, let's see...where to start?? First of all, I have joined a new CT!! Adi of Lepengoiun Designs is opening a new store at Divine Digital and I have been added to her team! I am VERY excited about this because I just love her templates!! Stay tuned for the grand opening details coming soon.

Secondly, I have been busy designing again! A little here and there in between sick kids and myself, but it has evolved. I personally think I am improving! I did take a designing class at Brownie Scraps, but was unable to finish it because of all of us having the flu for about a month. Never the less, I did learn a TON of good tips and tricks and new things about designing and how much time really goes into quality kit. With that said, I am moving on to number three!!

Finally, GingerScraps is having a designer call! And I have decided to join it! The first round is a color challenge and we had to make a mini kit using one of two color palettes. Here is my mini kit, What a Turkey!!

We had to create 6 elements that were not CU. The only thing that we could use that was CU was texture. My six elements are my turkey, the three ribbons, and the two frames. I love my little turkey!! In desperate need of an update!!

LOL! I have been slacking!! I need to update my blog with what has been going on lately! I have some news to share and I will post that in the morning. But for now, I am off to bed because it is late!!

Whats going on!!

Wow, I am back from a very much needed and very well enjoyed three week vacation! We went to Texas aka HOME and we had so much fun! But now that we are back, it is time to get back to business! Lots of things are going on and you are going to be able to benefit!! First of all, I have decided to join the Annual SAS-y Lady Designer Contest! I am actually quite nervous and very excited at the same time! The benefit for you is you get to download freebies, not just mine but everyone's!! I think at last count, there were 50 ladies entered! The contest starts on September 1 so if you are interested in joining, follow this link here! Annual SAS-y Lady Contest 2009. Secondly, I missed the August JM blog train due to me being out of town. The ladies did a fabulous job with the color palette and it has made me want to go ahead and do a little something with it. Pink Chocolate!

I am finally done with the new kit! This is my first full kit and I am really happy with how it turned out. It has 7 papers and 27 elements including 4 frames, 5 glitters, 2 journal tags, 7 ribbons, 2 ric racs and 7 flowers. It also has a full alpha with numbers and basic punctuation. About the new kit....

I have decided to wait a few more days till I release it because I am wanting to add some stuff to it. I am also trying to think of what to do next...There is the next JM blog train that is called Summer Garden, which I am excited about doing and then there is also the JM collab called Just Us Mommies that will be out soon too. So be watching for those to come in the next few weeks as well!

New kit....

I have been working on a new kit but I haven't released it yet. I will probably release it tomorrow. I am still trying to find the perfect name for it. I did decorate my blog with it so you can see what it is going to look like!

On another note, our vacation date is QUICKLY approaching and I could not be more excited! In 8 short days, we will be driving to Texas for 2.5 weeks!!! It will be nice to see all of our family and friends again. Its been 2.5 years since we have all been home together so we are very excited! I dont know if I am as excited about being cooped in the car with three kids under 4 for two days!

Welcome to my new blog, Simply Shan Marie Designs! I am in the beginning phase of learning how to design digital kits and I am eager to learn! You benefit because I will be making freebies! Hopefully some day, I will be good enough to sell my designs!

To start off this blog, I participated in a Blog Train on JM. The theme is Pockets Full of Sand, a beach theme. I know my kit doesn't have a lot of "beachy" elements, but I tried. Here is a preview of all of the kits you can get for FREE!!! I have 8 papers, 2 frames, a beach ball, pair of flip flops and a lower case "sand" alpha. I made all of the elements myself!! Now, on to the good stuff!
